"Welcome to this stimulating panel discussion! We're privileged to have with us two insightful experts, Katie Williams and Dominic Adamczyk, who will challenge the conventional notions of job interviewing. They bring a wealth of experience and innovative ideas to the table, ready to share their perspective on how transforming the interview process can significantly enhance the recruitment experience for both candidates and employers alike.
Katie Williams, the esteemed Head of People at APEXX Fintech Limited, has experienced many interview processes from both sides of the table. Today, she will discuss the shift towards a more balanced dialogue during interviews. Katie asserts, ""All too often organisations stick rigidly to a set structure for interviews, leaving candidates with precious little time to ask their own questions. I've been there myself. I want to emphasise the importance of allowing a candidate to interview you – the manager – and the company. I'm keen to highlight the positive outcome of affording candidates the opportunity to take the reins.""
This perspective aims to reshape the interview process, concentrating not solely on the organisation's needs but also on the candidate's queries and considerations. Katie's approach has the potential to revolutionise recruitment strategies, leading to a more informed candidate and a deeper comprehension of what the company can provide.
Our second panellist, Dominic Adamczyk, Lead Talent Partner at Bumble, brings to the table 16 years of recruitment experience. Dominic believes that a paradigm shift is required in recruitment conversations. He reveals, ""I've transformed my mindset from 'what's in it for us?', the employer, to a more 'what's in it for you?', the candidate-focused approach. It's all too easy for businesses to reel off a list of requirements, but I'd like to propose an alternative viewpoint. It's paramount to take into account what the candidate is looking for in a new job, their preferences, their motivations, and their needs.""
By prioritising the candidate's perspectives and ambitions, Dominic suggests a more holistic approach to interviews. His tactic may boost the likelihood of successful placements, as both the candidate and employer can evaluate their compatibility more accurately.
Join us for this panel discussion as we delve deeper into these provocative ideas from Katie Williams and Dominic Adamczyk. Let's explore the benefits of refocusing the interview process, balancing the scales between the employer's needs and the candidate's expectations. In this vibrant exchange, we will discover how a more engaged and empowered candidate can lead to successful hires and more content employees.
We're excited to share this fascinating discourse with you and trust it provides invaluable insights for the evolution of your recruitment process."
